I came across this news item in the Food Lovers newsletter and thought that it would be useful to share.
The Ducky Foundation’s aim is to gift one Honor Chapman Mentoring Award each year to an individual who can demonstrate a passion for real food with an inventive use of land or real estate, and an ambition to start or grow a business in farming or processing, production or retailing of food.
All candidates and their potential businesses must be UK-based and in order to enter, they must have a commercial rather than an academic proposition, been in business for no more than five years with an annual turnover of less than £150,000.
Each award will run for two years, with the winner receiving up to £30,000 worth of business mentoring and an investment in the new business from The Ducky Foundation. In year two, dependent on their needs, the mentoring, advice and guidance will come from a panel of food industry related experts who will form The Ducky Foundation Network.
Applicants should download the application form from the website, complete this and either email the form or send it to:

Closing date for entries is 31st March 2012. Selected applicants will be invited to an interview in London and winner will be announced in June 2012.
