Social media sets the menu for Midlands’ consumers

 

 

 

 

 

 

More than a third (35%) of Midlands consumers use social media when deciding where to go out for a drink or food, according to the findings of the latest Taste of the Nation : Still Going Out survey by Deloitte.
 
Unsurprisingly 20% of survey respondents from the region say the main reason for consulting a review site is to search for a discount, 16% book a venue as the result of a positive review and 12% use websites for ideas on where to go. 

Nationally, the survey of 3,000 consumers from across the country reveals that 61% of 18-34 year olds say they consult social media when deciding on their eating or drinking out destination with 31% of 35-54 year olds also consulting social media.
