The Warehouse Café in Birmingham used to be one of the city’s best kept secrets, but readers of Observer Food Monthly have literally let the cat out of the bag by voting for Warehouse Café as Best Ethical Restaurant.
As the Midlands runner-up in the Observer Food Monthly Awards, Warehouse Café is a sustainable vegetarian café that uses local produce in three courses of great comfort food for under £20. (Ahmed from Dine Birmingham is a lunch time regular here and a big fan.)
Situated on the first floor of a converted warehouse in Digbeth, this venue has been a vegetarian restaurant for over 30 years. Their tasty and innovative menu is inspired by seasonal fruit and vegetables. Here’s a sample of some of their Christmas dishes, which will be available from 1 December:
Port and Cromwell bishop stilton paté, Wild mushroom and brandy pastry with warm rice salad, broccoli and cobnut confetti and a Boozy Mess of Tia Maria, red currant and sloe, meringue with pistachio biscotti.
