Award for Delish Deli

Delish Deli in Rugby has recently scooped Rugby Hospitality Business of The Year 2013, so I spoke to owner Claire Hopkins on how the town has embraced her coffee shop and deli.

Customers can pick up bread from the Revel Bakery, duck eggs from Sky Lark farm, Stokes sauces, Tea Pigs teas, Union Coffee, olives and a host of deli products.  The real draw though, is the fresh food and cakes which are handmade in the shop, with a selection of ready meals to take away.

The Scandanavian influenced coffee shop is always busy during the day and Claire would like to extend the opening hours into the early evening. This would provide a chill out for local employees and theatre go-ers, so she has applied for an alcohol license.

In the meantime Delish is launching new monthly bistro nights, with a choice of three courses for £18. Open ravioli with mushrooms, roast squash and sage butter, roast cod with gazpacho salsa and lemon posset with polenta biscuit featured on the menu for their first event in May. Tickets for the 1st August evening are now on sale.

  1. That Bistro Dinner menu sounds delicious! I’ve not been to Rugby before but it’s not far from Birmingham so it might be worth checking out.
