In the market town of Shipston upon Stour, Warwickshire fine food retailer Taste of the Country is getting in the festive spirit by celebrating local and artisan food producers this Christmas.

Their ‘Twelve Tastes of Christmas’ campaign will showcase two products each week in the run up to the festivities. Starting with homemade Christmas puddings, the shop will be hosting daily tastings to help shoppers find the perfect turkey, mince pies, cheese, chutney, gingerbread and chocolates for their Christmas table.

Director of Taste of the Country, Jim Cherry, said: “As a farmer myself, I’m always interested in where food has come from and hearing the passion and care that goes into making some of this country’s finest foods We want to help people get to know more about where their food come from and enjoy sampling some of what our great producers have to offer.”

Taste of the Country Christmas hampers

Taste of the Country started life in 1998, when Jim Cherry was selling his own lamb and beef at farmers markets. Now it is a popular shop, packed with handmade foods from local suppliers plus their own kitchen produce and luxury foods. For Christmas there are also four special hampers, packed with tasty goods with prices starting at £30.
