Loves affair with Birmingham is over

Steve and Claire Love

Both hospitality trade and Birmingham media have reported on the announcement that Steve and Claire Love are closing their Birmingham restaurant at the end of May.

Here is what they have to say about leaving the city and their plans for a new venture;

“After six wonderful years, Steve and I are closing the doors at the end of this month.

We have come to the end of our current lease and made the difficult decision not to renew for a further six years. Not an easy decision, I am sure you can imagine, as we have made some great friends and welcomed so many of you to our home here in Birmingham.

“But fear not, this isn’t the end. Our home and our young family are in Warwickshire and so we are heading back home to open a beautiful “Restaurant with Rooms” in about 12 months time. We are in negotiations on the property at the moment and are looking for investors for the project. But we hope to offer our guests, a full intimate fine dining experience, with eight bedrooms, a contemporary bar and lounge eatery and a wine tasting room.

“A massive, huge and heartfelt thank you to all you for supporting us during our time in Birmingham. None of it would have been possible without you continuing to support us both with dining with us and all your wonderful, kind words over the years. We can’t wait to welcome to our new home and will keep in contact between now and then as we do some pop ups to keep ourselves busy.”

So it sounds like the closure of Loves Restaurant is Birmingham’s loss but Warwickshire’s gain, when they open their new venue.
