Beer lovers should put 31 May in their diaries now, as craft brewers in Coventry will unveil two new ales.
Microbrewery Lion Heart has collaborated with Birmingham fine dining restaurant Itihaas to create Sambha IPA to match the restaurant’s menu of authentic Indian cuisine. This new Indian Pale Ale is hoppy in flavour, with fruity notes of citrus and pineapple derived from special citra hops.
Lion Heart’s head brewer Carl Marshall said: “The recipe was developed to complement the rich and spicy aromas of Itihaas’s cuisine. It is dry but fruity, and refreshes the palate while packing real subtlety and depth of flavour.”
The ale is to be available exclusively at the Itihaas brasserie in Selfridges Birmingham from Sunday 31 May.
Another collaboration, this time with coffee, for Twisted Barrel Ale and Urban Coffee in Fargo Village. Head TB Brewer, Ritchie Bosworth, and the Urban team joined forces to create “The Fifth Element”. The Fifth Element is a smooth, easy drinking Espresso Stout with strong notes of coffee, liquorice and chocolate and a long bitter hoppy finish.
Try the new brew at the Market Hall Bar from the end of the month, but hurry as supplies are limited!
