It’s all change at The Almanack in Kenilworth, with a swanky new look, Head Chef Rob Hartwell (from Rose & Crown Warwick) now at the helm and new menu items to enjoy.
“For the past seven years The Almanack has been Kenilworth’s coffee house, meeting place, lunch spot, local bar, restaurant and place for celebrations – in short a gastropub in a modern setting,” says general manager Sam Horswill. “Constantly in use seven days a week, the time had come for a thorough overhaul and a very smart new look. So that’s what we’ve given it, and it’s with great excitement that we’re unveiling it now,” he says.
The bar continues to work as a light, bright day time space with pale grey walls and comfortable upholstered armchairs, bar tables and sofas in grey, aqua and coral. Warm, parquet flooring in a striking herringbone design unites the space, its copper tones reflected in the new Tom Dixon mesh bar lighting which make the place glow at night.
Intricate metal screens divide the bar from the eatery, which takes on a more glamorous feel with rich blue teal walls and touches of pillar box red. New leather booths and high-backed sofas make for lots of desirable tables, including a new chef’s table where up to 14 guests can enjoy the food of multi award-winning head chef Rob Hartwell, as well as the company of the man himself.
