After running a successful pop-up in venues across Birmingham, chef Alex Claridge has finally found a permanent home for his inventive cooking.
On Friday 13 November Bar By Nomad will be serving small plates and fixed multi-course menus with matched drinks and cocktails at BOM Lab (Birmingham Open Media) 1 Dudley Street.
Presenting unique dining experiences that are an exploration of nature, memory and place, Nomad uses British food and ingredients sourced from their own allotments and a network of foragers.
Alex said: “We’re thrilled to be joining a broader creative community, and hope it will make us better, more considered cooks. We wanted a social, lively space and BOM, I am quite sure, will suit us.”
Alex was introduced to BOM by Urban Coffee Company when Sir Peter Bazalgette, Chair of Arts Council England, commissioned a fine dining experience for a distinguished guest list in June.
Karen Newman, BOM’s Founder and Director said: “Alex created an ambitious, experimental feast in collaboration with artist Gemma Marmalade which blew us away. We’ve been in discussion since then and we’re absolutely thrilled that Nomad are joining us as our permanent restaurant partner”.
Wood ants, reindeer moss and ewe curds have all featured on the foraged and seasonally celebrated menus so it is a truly memorable dining experience!
