Breathing new life into some historic (and sometimes derelict) buildings in the Jewellery Quarter are a host of new bar and restaurant openings.

Chris James aka The Eight Foot Grocer is launching a new pizza restaurant next door to his current deli in Caroline Street.

Coming soon will be craft beer bar 1,000 trades, who has taken over the former Caribbean restaurant Diamonds & Pearls in Frederick Street.

Dares Café will serve cocktails and craft beer in the former West Midlands Police office in the Big Peg.

And the Pickled Piglet restaurant owners are opening The Pig & Tail pub in the former George and Dragon in Albion Street, which closed in the late 90s and fell into disrepair.
