Following a ‘Super September’ of eleven new openings in Birmingham, there are another two new openings this month that I would recommend checking out.
If you like wood-fired pizza and tapas then head to Otto Pizza or COMiDA @21 for some light bites in Birmingham.
Owned and run by Chris James (The Eight Foot Grocer) the Jewellery Quarter’s latest opening is serving eight pizzas from their wood-fired oven. On the menu you will find mushroom, seared pepper, artichoke, tomato and ricotta (£8.50), Hunters salami, seared pepper, mozzarella, olives and tomato (£9.50) pizza and there is even a Halloween special featuring pumpkin and smoky bacon. Eat in or takeaway at this 40-cover restaurant.

Residents of Harborne were lucky enough to have COMiDA tapas on their door step, but they now have to travel to Edgbaston to sample Stewart West’s modern European cooking. In the space previously occupied by Nörske Bar, diners can enjoy brunch, lunch and dinner with dishes including air dried beef, caper berries and sourdough, 12hr pork belly, apple, hazelnuts with iberico morcilla plus manchego, fig and almond wheel.
