Congratulations to Shrewsbury Market Hall for winning Britain’s Best Market at the Great British National Market Awards. The judges said: “Over the last ten years Shrewsbury Market has reinvented itself, adapted and changed its offer, turning the business around using a distinctive food offer to build a local reputation.”
The Town House has opened this week in Market Drayton. The family owned British restaurant on Cheshire Street has an interesting mix of posh dogs, Shropshire fidget pies, a savoury afternoon tea and Tandoori Cod on the menu.
I love the name and I’m damn sure that I will be a fan of their bao buns too, so I’ll be heading over to Lucky Duck. The noodle shop will be serving Asian-style broths too from the ex head chef at Purnell’s Bistro, when it opens at the end of February in Birmingham’s Caroline Street.
