Chef and food blogger Tim Phedon is launching his inaugural Greek Cypriot themed pop-up restaurant, creating authentic dishes from the villages of his grandparents in Cyprus, mixed in with creative reinterpretations of some classic recipes. Menus will be themed around mezze, and all dishes – from bread and dips to a Cypriot custard filo pie for dessert – will be homemade. Tickets available from Eventbrite.

Tuck into dishes from Leave It To Esmie, Dookie’s Grill, Cornography and West Jerk Centre and speciality rum and cocktails to enjoy from FarGo Bar, Trailer Made Cocktails and Backhaus & Co. As well as free sampling and exclusive special offers across the weekend in the Urban Room and Canalside area of the Mailbox, foodies can also indulge in an exciting line up of events. There is a Taste of the Mailbox Food Tour on Friday 3rd August with a dish and glass of wine or cocktail at each of the Harvey Nichols, Tom’s Kitchen and Malmaison restaurants. Amy Seton, owner of Birmingham Whisky Club, is hosting a whisky tasting masterclass; Lap-fai Lee (aka the Foodist) will be hosting a Thai feast and masterclass ; Churchills will be hosting a gin tasting and Masterchef finalist Louisa Ellis is taking over the Harvey Nichols restaurant for a night. Popular Coventry chef Sophie is hosting a Celebration of Summer night, with a menu packed with delicious local produce. The evening starts with a sharing vegetable, meat or fish platter, served with focaccia and garlic sourdough bread from the Proof Bakery Main, slow roasted British pork shoulder with fennel and lemon from Scott’s of Binley Woods & Earlsdon or Seafood kebabs, with crème catalans and poached peaches to finish. The session will include a selection of afternoon tea treats and a line up of exciting drinks featuring the Cotswolds spirit collection. These will be brought round to you as brand ambassador, Rob Pratchett, presents a mini cocktail masterclass.The Cotswolds will also be hosting a pop-up shop throughout the weekend so you can buy all of your favourites on the day.

This year the centre of Lichfield will play host to over 300 food and drink stalls, selling everything from chutney to chillies, jams to jerk chicken, fudge to fajitas and tipples to treats. There will be street food traders, selling dishes from over 38 countries; six former Great British Bake Off celebrities coming along to take to the Central England Co-operative Cookery Theatre stage, free cookery schools, children’s activities, pop up demonstrations and competitions.
