Michael Chapoutier Wine Tasting

Exclusive to Slurp in the UK, come and try a new range of six wines from the Chapoutier stable, from both France and Australia. Made by one of the greatest names in winemaking, legendary French wine grower Michel Chapoutier, these all offer superb quality and great value for money.

Colmore Food Festival

Michelin starred restaurant Adam’s and wine merchant Loki Wine will be among the 30 local restaurants, bars and hotels offering tempting taster dishes for £4 each, at this annual celebration of the city centre’s food and drink.

Nuneaton Food Festival

There will be over 40 traders selling hot and cold food, along with live cookery demonstrations, live music and some great family activities. Nuneaton’s first Food Festival is a celebration of the town’s restaurants, bars, and cafes, as well as some of the finest regional food and drink producers.

Cider & Rum Festival
The Merchants Inn, 5 – 7 Little Church Street, Rugby
The pub is hosting their annual cider festival, featuring 100 ciders with a twist this year with the addition of a rum shack serving a selection of the best rums from around the world. There will also be live music, Caribbean food and speciality sausages to enjoy during the week, check their Facebook page for timings.

Their popular French nights continue with a three course French table d’hote menu and a bottle of wine per couple for £33.50 per person. Dishes on the menu include roast fillet of pork, wrapped in air dried ham with a black pudding potato cake, apple and celeriac gratin, prunes and Armagnac puree, broad beans and marjoran jus.

Birmingham Cocktail Weekend
£10 entry wristband
A weekend of exploring new venues and sampling the best of Birmingham’s cocktails. Buy your ticket online in advance then come down to The Edinburgh Gin Hub at The Mailbox during the weekend to swap it for your wristband and to pick up your guide booklet. Then it’s time to make your way across the city sampling £4 signature cocktails, enjoying free tastings and masterclasses (which need to be booked in advanced) at the Birmingham Cocktail Weekend website.

Warwickshire Wild Food Foraging Course Walk
The Oak, Coventry Road, Baginton, Coventry

Learn about the array of edible plants and mushrooms growing all around us in the UK in summer in the historic village of Baginton, near Coventry. On this walk, with foraging expert Kerry Bowness, you’ll discover how to identify some commonly growing foods to forage for, and hints on where to look. Butchery Class & BBQ
The Star & Garter, Leamington

Aubrey Allen is hosting a butchery and steak night in the pub’s private dining room. On arrival guests will receive a summer cocktail and some charcuterie nibbles, before Russell Allen’s butchery demo. Guests will then get hands on preparing chicken wings, sausages and BBQ dip before the steaks are barbecued.

After the success of their pop-up, passionate cooks Sonali and Neerali are back cooking at No11 restaurant. They will be using as much local produce as they can in this four course meal, so if you enjoy fresh past and communal dining put this date in your diary.

Gin in the City
A whopping 40 bars are taking part in this three days festival, including the award-winning 40 St Paul’s. Hosted by gin guru Carl Hawkins, aka The Gintleman, venues in the Jewellery Quarter, Colmore Row, Brindleyplace, The Mailbox and further afield into Edgbaston and Harborne have new and unique blends, masterclasses and even gin afternoon teas to try. A £10 wristband will allow visitors to sample an exclusive gin mixer/cocktail at a cost of £5 each. These wristbands can be purchased online then collected from the festival’s three gin stations at Hotel Du Vin in Church Street, Malmasion in the Mailbox or Loki Wine & Deli Edgbaston.
