The owners of Iron and Rose wine merchant in Shrewsbury Market Hall are opening their second venue – a new wine bar – Glouglou. Inspired by the Italian enoteca, the kind of place where you can stop for a quick drink and a snack and pick up a bottle for dinner, or spend a few hours sharing delicious wine and food with friends. The emphasis is on real, natural, downright delicious wines accompanied by little plates of carefully considered food. They are aiming to open on Castle Gates by the end of March.

The Brownie Bus

Digbeth Dining Club is visiting Shrewsbury on Saturday 23 March. The event at Seven Social will feature DJs, live music, cocktails, craft beer and street food from traders including The Brownie Bus, Cleopatras Kitchen, Middle Feast, Dim Sum Su, Greidy’s Wings + Strips, Nyama Choma, Flying Cows, Baked in Brick & Chef Shack. From 1pm to 10pm, tickets are £1 in advance or £2 on the door.

Table Talk – Friday 9th March

A regional flavour to this week’s table talk, with an extension to Hanbao in Worcester planned, a new craft beer pub in Stafford opening  and Digbeth Dining Club’s first visit to Shrewsbury.

Hanbao Worcester

If they receive planning approval, burger fans in Worcester will have more space to enjoy at Hanbao. The restaurant and cocktail bar would like to add a rooftop bar to their Foregate Street premises. Due to open just in time for the summer.
