Very exciting news for the 2021 City of Culture – Michelin star chef Glynn Purnell is to open a new restaurant in Coventry!

Set in the coach house adjoining Coventry Charterhouse, Glynn’s new eaterie will serve both a la carte and tasting menus in a ground floor restaurant and first floor bar. Restoration work on the historic building begins in the summer.

Coventry Beer Festival Whats on Live

Still in the city, the countdown has begun for the Coventry Beer Festival which takes place this weekend (Friday 15 and Saturday 16 March). There will be more than 75 beers, ciders, perries and country wines on offer for those who attend the CAMRA organised festival at the Butts Park Arena from noon to 11pm.

Cellar Club and The Meat Room Leamington Courier

Bread from farmers market

Coventry is about to welcome a new farmers market. Starting from Saturday 28th April, the farmers market at Fargo Village will run from 11am to 5pm with a wide range of fresh, local produce.

Ben’s Biltong full range is now available from The Meat Room butcher’s in Leamington Spa. The South African snacks include original, garlic and chutney, chilli and chipotle varieties.

Next week a new Lebanese restaurant will open in Birmingham’s Grand Central. Comptoir Libanais prepares authentic Middle-Eastern dishes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and to takeaway including tagines and mezze.
